As the premier moving company in Michigan, we love winning awards as much as we love a good pun. In fact, winning awards makes us happier than our customers after a day of moving- now that’s pretty happy! We’re proud to announce we’ve been awarded several honors at the annual Unigroup Learning Conference! Our awards include individual acknowledgement of achievement for Premier Relocations employees in addition to earning top honors for flawless customer service.
The Customer Excellence Award is an incredibly prestigious and highly sought-after award. To be eligible for this award, Mayflower agencies must have the highest customer feedback and be meeting or exceeding the high standards set for claims, safety, as well as having a certified labor team. Customers are asked to rate various stages of their move once the move process is completed. This includes the in-home or virtual estimate process, move coordinator, packing, loading and delivery process. These scores are then combined with the standards set by Mayflower, and a winner is chosen for each respective size category. Winning this award is difficult, but we did it!
Marissa Cronk, a senior move coordinator from the Novi, MI office, was awarded the Heart of Quality. This award is presented to top move coordinators who have the highest customer feedback scores and complete ongoing yearly training. Beginning her career with Premier in 2013, Marissa has been runner-upon two prior occasions..
“I’m certainly honored to receive the award but (still) in shock at the same time,” said Marissa. “I’ve been runner up twice but have never actually won the award until now. In my opinion, a lot more than just my work goes into the survey scores I receive. I’m thankful to be part of such a great team who is always willing to assist and go the extra mile.”
Like several other industries, 2021 was a challenging year for many in the moving and storage industry. Record home sale prices lead to a high demand for moving, coupled with a labor shortage nationwide. This lead many move coordinators to problem solve issues they may have never faced before.
“Last year was the most challenging and difficult year I’ve experienced as a relocation coordinator,” said Marissa. “I am proud that despite the obstacles, our team came together to get creative and find solutions. I think our customers could tell how hard we were working for them. There were late nights and weekends devoted to problem solving. I’m grateful for our team. We found solutions to everything thrown our way, and that left us with happy customers in the end. We’d never let them down.”
Fred Glore, representing Premier’s logistics division, received two awards related to the Masters Club Inner Circle. Masters Club awards are presented to individuals responsible for servicing the largest volume of business in each service line.
“Fred handles some of the largest trade shows in the world,” noted Kirk Hensler, Sr. Vice President of Operations for Premier. “This is an incredibly specialized and detailed area of business. Working with incredibly prestigious companies can certainly come with challenges, but handling the logistics of such large projects is Fred’s specialty. He has a long career built on his ability to understand the complex needs of his customers along with his ability to adapt to changes along the way. Fred’s attention to detail and ability to provide major services in cities all over the world makes him a premier partner in the tradeshow logistics industry .”
John Hopkins, Premier Relocations of Novi, MI, was recognized for outstanding sales performance, earning entry into Mayflower’s Million Dollar Club. Winners of this award demonstrate outstanding excellence in annual booked linehaul revenue. “John’s commitment to our customers and local community is unprecedented,” commented General Manager, Jim Spencer. “His passion goes beyond sales and touches the heart of what customer service really means.”
Returning in-person this year, the annual Learning Conference is attended by hundreds of members from various Mayflower and United agencies throughout the country. Events include workshops, seminars and social events to promote inter-agency cooperation. The conference concludes with an award ceremony, where Premier has received numerous awards over the past several years.
“I am very proud of the awards we earned,” commented Spencer. “We have a team of very talented individuals that work tirelessly for their customers. As a team, winning these awards is a great accomplishment. That means our customers are getting great service from the first phone call to the post-move follow ups. I am happy to see the whole team’s effort recognized with that award.”
