One of the biggest sources of anxiety around hiring a moving company is simply not knowing what to expect. Who shows up, and when. How the estimate turns into an actual price. What happens if something changes. When there is no clear process, it is easy to assume the worst. Here is exactly what working with Premier Relocations looks like, from your first phone call to the moment the last box is set down in your new home.

Step 1: Initial contact and consultation

Every move starts with a conversation. You reach out by phone or through our website with the basics: where you are moving from, where you are headed, and roughly when. From there, we schedule either an in-home visit or a virtual survey, depending on the size of your move and what works best for your schedule.

Step 2: The estimate

During the survey, our team reviews your belongings room by room, or walks through them with you on video, to build an accurate picture of the size and scope of your move. This is where you should expect real numbers, not a vague guess. A trustworthy estimate accounts for weight, distance, packing needs, and any specialty items like pianos or artwork, so the number you receive is close to what you will actually pay, not a low figure designed to get you to sign and raise later.

Step 3: Booking and planning

Once you accept your estimate, we lock in your moving dates and assign a move coordinator who becomes your main point of contact through the entire process. This is when we go over the details that make or break a smooth move: packing timeline, whether you want full-service packing or plan to pack yourself, building requirements at either address, and any special handling instructions.

Step 4: Packing and preparation

If you have chosen full or partial packing services, our crew arrives ahead of your move date to carefully pack and label your belongings using materials suited to what is being protected, from dish packs for the kitchen to wardrobe boxes for closets. Every item is inventoried, so there is a clear record of what is being moved and its condition before it leaves your home.

Step 5: Moving day

Your crew arrives within the scheduled window, loads your belongings with care for both the items and the property (using floor runners, door jamb protection, and furniture pads), and transports them to your new address. For long-distance moves, your shipment travels with a tracked timeline so you know roughly when to expect delivery.

Step 6: Delivery and move-in

At your new home, the crew unloads, and if you have chosen unpacking services, will unpack and place items in the rooms you designate. We do a final walkthrough with you to confirm everything arrived and nothing was missed, so you can raise any concerns immediately rather than discovering an issue weeks later.

Why walking through this matters

A moving company that can explain its process clearly, before you have even booked, is generally one that has nothing to hide. Vague answers about pricing, timelines, or what happens on move day are a warning sign. At Premier Relocations, we would rather you know exactly what to expect from the first phone call, so there are no surprises on the day that matters most.

If you are ready to see this process in action, reach out for a no cost estimate and we will walk you through what your specific move will look like from start to finish.
